Measurement Guide
Ame_Handmade Standard Size Chart – Measurement Guide
For the most accurate results, please take measurements wearing only your underwear. Do not wear shoes while measuring. Each measurement should be taken 2–3 times to ensure consistency and accuracy. Use a soft measuring tape and keep it level and snug, without pulling too tightly.
Back Shoulder Width
Measure straight across the back from the outer edge of the left shoulder to the outer edge of the right shoulder, passing over the prominent bone at the base of the neck. Place the tape flat on top of the shoulders and keep it level throughout. Repeat 2–3 times for accuracy.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape measure level across your back and front. This measurement represents the circumference of your torso at the bust line. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight, and positioned evenly all the way around.
Tips
-
This is not your bra size.
-
Keep your arms relaxed and resting naturally at your sides while measuring.
-
Wear the same bra you plan to wear with your gown when taking this measurement.
Under Bust
Measure the circumference of your ribcage directly beneath the bust. Wrap the tape around your body just below where your breasts end, keeping it level all the way around. Ensure the tape is snug but not too tight for an accurate measurement.
Tip: Keep your arms relaxed and resting naturally at your sides while taking this measurement.
Mid-Shoulder to Bust Point
Measure from the mid-shoulder, where your bra strap naturally rests, down to the bust point (nipple). Keep your shoulders and arms relaxed during the measurement, and wear the bra you plan to use with your gown for the most accurate result.
Tips
-
Keep your shoulders and neck relaxed while measuring.
-
Wear the bra you intend to use with your gown for the most accurate result.
Waist
Measure around your natural waistline, which is the narrowest part of your torso. To locate it, bend slightly to one side—the crease that forms is your natural waist. Wrap the tape measure around this point, keeping it level and parallel to the floor.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. This point is typically 7–9 inches (18–23 cm) below your natural waistline. Keep the tape measure level and parallel to the floor all the way around.
Height
Stand upright with bare feet together and measure from the top of your head straight down to the floor.
Hollow to Hem
Measure from the hollow at the base of your neck straight down to where you want the hem of your dress to fall.
For a long gown:
Hollow to Hem (front hem) = Hollow to Floor + Shoe Height
Tip: Have someone assist you by holding the tape at your hollow while they extend it down to your desired dress length.
Tips
-
Stand upright with your feet together and remove your shoes before measuring.
-
Knee length is defined as just below the kneecaps. Measuring too high may result in a dress that is shorter than intended.
Arm Circumference
Measure around the fullest part of your upper arm, keeping the tape measure snug but not tight.
Tips
-
Keep your arm relaxed while taking this measurement.
Armscye
Measure around the armhole by placing the tape over the top of your shoulder and wrapping it under your armpit. Keep the tape comfortably snug to capture the correct armhole size.
Sleeve Length
Measure from the shoulder seam down to where you want the sleeve to end. Keep your arm relaxed at your side to ensure the most accurate result.
Tips
-
Keep your arm slightly bent while taking this measurement.
Wrist
Measure around the fullest part of your wrist, keeping the tape comfortably snug but not tight.
